The team at House of Maxx thought it about time to properly introduce you all to our very own range, MaxxBeautyTonic! So this is how the story goes…
The last thing on Makayla and my (Jenny) mind when we opened the doors to House of Maxx was to embark on another project and make our own internal supplements for skin and gut health. Now 4 years in with Maxx Beauty Tonic and recent rebranding and registering of Maxx Beauty Tonic, it has become a vital extension of what we are about at House of Maxx.
As a mother to a sick child where food was a confusing thought , Makayla use to dabble in creating her own concoctions from pantry staples into a meal or drink that worked for her and didn’t trigger her allergies. Often she would give me a list of items to get from the health food store, and while they were expensive she would experiment on taste and texture to make a “healthy” version of what other kids were eating. She became a master of blending ingredients together to not only be healthy but delicious and with an understanding of what each ingredient offered the body I quickly realised the importance both emotionally and physically of Makayla doing this. Very early on at House of Maxx I would give my health clients a list of ingredients to put together from Makayla’s recipe blends to make soothing and nourishing drinks that we had made for ourselves to combat sugar cravings and inflammation whether that be PMS or gut bacteria imbalances. Clients either couldn’t find ingredients or the expense was playing a role in their decision to purchase, so we came up with a solution. I knew from my understanding of foods on how each ingredient acted as a nutrient and Makayla after working alongside a Raw Chef in her earlier years could instinctively blend those foods to hit the spot with taste and texture. The next step was to find someone who was prepared to blend and manufacture for us in small quantities and using only the purists ingredients while fitting in with us and our philosophy to support local businesses. Maxx Beauty Tonic range was born and just like that our first products to role out where Chocolate Mylk and Golden Mylk, now known as Golden Chai.
Chocolate Mylk tackles the sugar cravings and balances that ravenous PMS hunger while our clients adjust to food changes. Golden Mylk was adjusted to be a marriage between a Turmeric and Chai Latte and is a favourite as our night time drink with anti-inflammatory ingredients and also promotes a restful sleep.
We could have left it there but of course once you open the door you must go through it, so next became our detox and reseeding products which utilised remedies that have been used for years, that we too had used along our healing journey with the recommendation from Naturopaths and TCM. These products includes Colloidal Silver which may kill off single cell bacteria that can cause dysbiosis in the gut. Internal Cleansing Clay made from French green clay (diatomaceous earth) to help pass toxins, pathogens and heavy metals out of our system. Mucosa Powder which is a probiotic blend to help reseed and encourage good bacteria to properly inhabit our digestive tract, soothing our mucosal lining.
This 3 step program, combined with healthy eating, good skin care and home compliance is addressing and enhancing the healing of skin issues beyond food and topical treatments and clients really start to see changes happening in this phase.
You would think we would be satisfied with this product line but once again our clients were indicating we weren’t done yet. We knew that in order to keep our microbiome flourishing our clients needed to support their mucosal lining, this is where Maxx Beauty Tonic Collagen powders came in. With additional ingredients added to the collagen we can address various skin concerns and therefore customising our products further for our clients needs. Rejuvenate Collagen is your perfect allrounder, combining sustainable bovine collagen type 1 & 3 with DE Silica, to help sooth your gut lining and encourage complete cell formation, it is as simple as adding this powder to your smoothies or drinks while Replenish Collagen is best taken in room temperature filtered water to encourage waste elimination for skin conditions such as acne.
